Wow, its been forever since I last posted... we just returned back from Sin City for a wedding. We had a great trip.
Some pics from our room at the Bellagio.
An incredible thing happened the second day that we were there. While transffering from the Monte Carlo, where the wedding was at, to the Bellagio, W dropped his wallet in the cab. So, as we were checking into the hotel, he found it was gone. Not knowing what cab company, or the drivers name, W frantically called every cab company in town when we got up to our room. As he did that, I called our credit cards to put a hold on them, and the airlines to find out if we could still get on our Tuesday flight. While this is going on, we got a call from the Monte Carlo. Apparently, our cab driver had tried to get help from the bellman at the Bellagio but they didn't tell the concierge or manager what had happened. The cab driver didn't know how to locate us so he went all the way back to our first hotel, Monte Carlo, to get in touch with us. So he told us when he got on the phone that he would come back to the Bellagio to return the wallet. Total relief.
This whole ordeal has made me believe that there are a lot of good souls out there. He even tried to refuse the $200.00 that W tried to give him, but eventually gave in. I guess our first instinct, when it first happened, was to think the worst, that he would keep the cash and trash the rest. Or that the next patron would find it and do the same. With all the bad things that you hear about, it seems normal to distrust anyone you don't know. But he instead went looking for us, taking over an hour out of a busy day to help us out. Before he pulled away, I told him that he truly made our trip. So thank you Mr. Unbelievable Cab Driver, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Its not to say I will walk around with rose colored glasses, but I will have more faith.
I missed my little ones so badly though, I will NOT be doing that again anytime in the near future, thats for sure. I cried when I left those little monsters, I knew I'd miss them more than they would miss me.
W and I got to reconnect, which is awesome. Its been a while since we've really spent time alone, quiet evenings and laughing at silly things. Although, when we are at home it seems things are fine, when we are alone is the time that I remember why I truly fell for the guy.
We didn't come home with much money, but we came home with so much more than that. More appreciation for our kids, of other people and of each other. It was a really great trip.
