So anyway, its pretty sad when your own daughter tells you that you take Halloween way too seriously and need to spend more time with your kids. Sigh. Me, scolding my son "Stop bugging me- I need to finish my costume!!!" is possibly a sign that I need to ease up. Well, here's some Halloween love, I have to admit I spent way too much time setting up for one days worth of festivities, but I will have them for next year when I again neglect my family to decorate, play dress up and watch way too much Addams Family reruns. :p
C-boy as something scary that we don't know the name of
C-girl as Jack Skellington, and her two cousins the Woodland Fairy and Birthday Present
Me, as Angry Bird. Ugh. Cause I enjoy bumping into a dozen different kids in the head as I walk around and have my husband carry my drink and feed me through a straw because my beak is in the way and incidently the beak stuffing was going up my nose. I definitely won't be going as this next year.
My sister's family did the Domo pumpkin
We did the evil "why is our pumpkin sinking in?" one.
C-boy seemed to enjoy his mask a little too much.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!!!
We took a little vacation to Breckenridge this past Presidents Day break-
our suite had a fireplace so we roasted marshmallows and had s'mores at night (yes, we Hawaii people get excited over stuff like that)
C-boy and C-girl at ski school-
the three of us at the end of the mountain
the Kidtopia snow fort at Keystone resort after we went tubing-
inside the fort...W peeking around the corner
C-boy on a quest for good snowball making material
the pretty Belgian Draft horses that took us on our dinner sleigh ride-
A perfect week and our second trip to this great little town, hopefully we'll be back soon!!
Hope everyone is having a super new year !
Its been a long blog break, so far we've been...
Chasing off the bad spirits, guess who liked that the most?
Bubble, bubble, bubble. My brother in law is the chemist behind AMAZING bubbles-
Trying out different cinnamon roll recipes, this one is Alton Brown's Overnite Cinnamon Rolls-
We'll see tonite if it passes the test at Nana's house!
How can it be over???? Well, we had a blast this Christmas...
(pattern for the ornament I made above by pimpstitch)
we put up our new (to us) tree (given by our Aunty) our old one that we bought on Craigslist bit the dust and Aunty was getting rid of hers, just in the nick of time.
the kids got a couple of new games, Jenga MAX anyone? The girl screams everytime it falls, almost louder than I do...
our traditional walk around the neighborhood to look at lights-
The best presents from the kids - a wall hanging sewn by C-girl and pinch pot tree by C-boy. Love it!
A belated Merry Christmas to everyone!!!!
“Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy.”
-Francis Pharcellus Church, 1897
C-girl wanted to show off her favorite Christmas animals... big hedgie and little hedgie (my girl is so original when it comes to names)
and C-boy had to then step in with part of his growing army of Transformers-
This was part of our New Years Eve Festivities...
training of a pyromaniac, the early years.
My sister recently did a awesome Christmas photo session with the kids... I love this one, its so C-boy.
As you can tell its not very cold here (never is really) I keep hoping for chilly weather but obviously this is not the place for it.
C-boy can't wait to make a snowman like we did in Colorado, but in the meantime, he's been drawing them and gingerbread men like keerayzee.
Dude, I don't know what mr. gingerbread is looking at with that demented smile, but I think he's up to no good.
That goes for mr. alien gingerbreadman too.
Makings of a new tradition...
I didnt finish the windows but the kids loved it anyway ( i also tried to make a spider web where you see the smudge, but my frosting mastery blows)
Sallys rocks. Arent these "Nightmare" figurines fun?
And because we attended the Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween party in Orlando in the beginning of this month (yes, nearly 10 hours on a plane each way, now thats scary), heres some pyro lovin' -
A mini Indie and his Jack Skelly dad watching the amazing Disney fireworks-
Happy Halloween everyone!!!
Signs of Easter springing up...
Heather asked if I had started my spring decorations, so here's a little bit of my house...
Some of my Peter Rabbit collection I usually only display for Easter-
